Tram has already set the scene with the Famous Five (Dave G, Dave B, Bun, Tram and myself) meeting at School and Scouts and then changing from scout shorts to jeans. We all became interested in Chicago Rhythm and Blues music in the 60's spending many an enjoyable evening mainly at the Ealing Club. Here we rubbed shoulders with the Rolling Stones before they were famous. Birthdays were often spent going up to clubs in London.

Things changed with marriage and children but as I worked and lived closer to Dave we managed to meet for social lunches over many years. In the earlier years my wife Rosemary and I would occasionally meet Dave and Ros for a meal. In recent years Dave and I would have lunch at various pubs in Berkshire, putting the World to right and sorting out the England Football and Cricket teams.

Finally, most people associate Dave with Golf but he was a good footballer and for many years played club cricket to a high level.
